WorksOnMac tracks prices for Mac games across Steam, GOG and the Mac App Store, in six regions, and records whether and how well each game runs on a Mac, including through CrossOver.

Every claim on this site is a measurement, not a recommendation: a price is a number we recorded on a date, and a playability verdict, curated by us or built from reports readers submit, is evidence gathered at a point in time. We can be wrong. Prices, availability and how well a game runs can change without notice, sometimes within days of a store or a CrossOver update, and you should treat every figure and every verdict here as a starting point for your own judgement rather than the last word.

Browsing WorksOnMac needs no account. Signing in, which is required only to write a compatibility report, is either a Google account or a one-time link we email to you. There is no password to choose, and we never ask you for one.

You must be 16 or older to create an account or submit a report. We ask you to confirm this with a checkbox at sign-up and do not verify it beyond that.

A compatibility report should be your own genuine experience on a machine you actually used, described honestly, whether the result was good or bad.

Do not submit a report for hardware you do not own or a result you did not observe, impersonate another person or organisation, post spam or a link unrelated to the game you are reporting on, or submit abusive, harassing or illegal content. Submissions are rate limited (10 per hour, 30 per day) to keep the reports useful rather than to punish genuine use.

We may hide or remove a report at our discretion, for any of the reasons above or because it is otherwise unreliable, and we do not owe you an explanation before doing so. A report we have hidden stays hidden even if the same combination of game, layer and machine is resubmitted.

You own what you write. By submitting a report, you give us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the site, combine it with other reports, and use it to compute our own playability verdicts, for as long as that report exists on WorksOnMac.

If you delete a report, or your account, we delete the report itself, in full, immediately, from your account. The verdict we compute from the reports that remain is our own derived work, separate from any single report, and it can change as a result of your deletion but is not itself something your deletion removes.

A playability verdict on this site, whether it is our own curated synthesis or one built from reader reports, is evidence, not a guarantee that a specific game will run on your specific Mac.

We know people make real purchase decisions, sometimes real money, based on a Perfect or Playable label here, and we take that seriously: every curated verdict cites at least two independent public sources, and a community verdict needs several agreeing, recent reports before it can move the label at all. Even so, a verdict can be outdated, incomplete, or wrong for your particular hardware, macOS version or CrossOver settings. We provide prices, availability and compatibility information as available and without any warranty, express or implied, of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. Confirm a title works the way you need before you rely on our verdict for a purchase you cannot undo.
